We’ve been heads down working on making BridgeIt even better for our growing community, and today we’re excited to share some meaningful improvements we’ve made.

We’re pretty happy with how it turned out, and we hope you like it too! We think it captures the spirit of bridging cultures and the journey we’re on together.

Introducing Good Morning Messages! 🌅

The biggest news is the launch of our Good Morning Messages feature for users in immersive mode. This is something we’re particularly excited about because it helps create those small, daily moments of language practice that really add up over time.

Every morning, BridgeIt will greet you in your target language, helping you start your day with a touch of immersion. Here’s how it looks:

Smoother Experience for Everyone

We’ve also made several improvements to make BridgeIt more user-friendly:

  • Better Error Handling: We’ve significantly improved our error messages and form validations. Now you’ll get clearer, more helpful feedback when something doesn’t work as expected.

  • Simplified Sign-up: We’ve streamlined our registration and authentication flows to make it easier to get started with BridgeIt.
  • Behind the Scenes: We’ve updated our dependencies and improved our test coverage to keep BridgeIt running smoothly and reliably.

Development Updates

Despite being under the weather recently, we’ve made significant progress in making BridgeIt more robust and professional:

  • Faster Development: We’ve improved our development and QA tooling, allowing us to ship updates more quickly and reliably
  • Moving to a New Domain: We’re in the process of transitioning to a new domain to better serve our growing community, as BridgeIt is growing from being a side project hosted at apps.spacebarlabs.com and coming into its own as a standalone product
  • Legitimizing BridgeIt: While maintaining our experimental, early-access spirit, we’re working hard to mature BridgeIt into a more polished product. Our new logo and styling contribute to this.

Technical Improvements

For those interested in the technical side:

  • Stronger Authorization: We’ve enhanced our security systems to better protect your data
  • Better Error Handling: More informative error messages and improved system stability
  • Web Chat Interface: We’re working on a web-based chat experience (coming soon!)

Try It Out!

If you haven’t enabled immersion mode yet, now is a great time to try it out and start receiving Good Morning Messages! You can enable it in your preferences. Be sure to enable immersive mode and set the learning language that you’d like to receive messages in.
